Animoca Brands acquires car racing video game developer Eden Games

Blockchain-focused game company Animoca Brands announced on Monday that it has acquired French game developer Eden Games, creator of racing-focused titles such as GEAR.CLUB, Mobile F1, Need for speed: Porsche and V-Rally.

Formerly known as Eden Studios, the company was part of Atari until the early 2010s. Eden Games relaunched as an independent studio in 2013.

Monday’s acquisition marks the second acquisition of Animoca Brands, a racing-focused games company, since the start of the year. Hong Kong-based Animoca Brands has acquired a mobile game developer Mechanic — behind titles such as Couple exhaustion and Torque drift — in February of this year.

With this new acquisition, Animoca Brands intends to use Eden Games’ experience to develop its existing play-to-earn game. REVV Motorsport as well as other series of blockchain-based racing video games.

“With its quarter-century of expertise in creating high-quality motorsport video games, Eden Games will enhance and accelerate the development of the REVV Motorsport co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, in a statement.
