GAN Acquires Online Casino Game Developer Silverback to Strengthen US Offering

GAN limited announced on Thursday that it completed the acquisition of the online casino game developer based in Bulgaria and the United Kingdom Silverback game on undisclosed terms. The acquisition provides GAN with the Exclusive worldwide rights to all current and future Silverback online games, which the company says will include 50 unique new slot games over the next three years.

This integration will strengthen GAN’s SuperRGS offering launched last month in the United States with a exclusive portfolio of online slot game experiences. Silverback’s Existing Online Slot Games Portfolio will launch in GAN’s SuperRGS content suite starting in the first half of 2022.

The acquisition of Silverback is as part of GAN’s content acquisition strategy to increase the company’s overall “take rate” on existing B2B operator gross revenue derived from iGaming, as well as the growing share of GAN in iGaming revenue for B2C operators in the United States who are not already customers of the platform.

Silverback has proven online slot games such as “Aztec Luck” and “Mystery Stacks”, currently distributed in European regulated markets to more than 100 B2C iGaming operators.

In an official press release, Dermot Smurfit, President and CEO of GAN, commented on the integration and said, “We are thrilled to bring Silverback’s innovative slots content into GAN’s rapidly growing portfolio of online slots games. Silverback has built its reputation in this industry. as a leading innovator in slot machine design and we welcome the talent of the team, including slot machine mathematicians and software engineers, who will be invaluable in the long run as we are building on our strategy of expanding our exclusive online slot games for distribution in the U.S. We are very pleased with the progress being made around our SuperRGS strategy and today’s announcement is the exciting next step in this strategic initiative.”
