GTA 6 leak is ‘biggest in video game history’

A massive leak of videos and screenshots of Grand Theft Auto VI which has been described as “one of the greatest in video game history”, seems to have revealed that the upcoming game will feature a female protagonist for the first time.

Images of the alleged gameplay of GTA 6 – one of the most anticipated video games of recent years – was posted on a popular gaming forum by a user by the name of “Teapotuberhacker”.

The 3GB file contained 90 videos labeled as GTA 6 images, which were quickly shared widely on Reddit, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube and other platforms over the weekend.

Along with clips of a playable female character named Lucia, the leak also appears to show that the game will at least partially take place in Vice City, a fictionalized version of Miami, Florida, which was the location of the 2002 edition. GTA Vice City.

Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games has confirmed that the GTA 6 leak was real, saying he was “extremely disappointed” that the game was revealed before its scheduled release date.

“We recently experienced a network breach in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development images for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto,” the company wrote in a statement.

“At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services or any long-term effects on the development of our ongoing projects…Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as always to providing you, our players, with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations.

“The footage is early and unfinished, of course,” said Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who first confirmed the leak. tweeted on Sunday. “This is one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games.

“There are several reasons why this is a nightmare for Rockstar. One is that it will disrupt work for a while. Another is that it may lead management to limit work-from-home flexibility. The repercussions of this leak might not be clear for quite a while.

The follow-up of GTA 5 took years to prepare, with an expected release date of 2023 or 2024.
