Competitive mobile gaming platform Skillz and the National Football League (NFL) have revealed the finalists for the NFL & Skillz Game Developer Challenge, with selected developers securing the rights to use NFL branding and club logos in their titles mobiles and move into the soft launch phase.
The four finalists from the development studio are Brainstorm Games, iGamebank, Play Mechanix and Session Games.
Back in February, Skillz signed a multi-year partnership with the NFL, with the Developer Challenge included in the deal.
The challenge was first announced in April 2021 and accepted all genres except for the 11v11 format. Submissions were judged by a panel of judges from Skillz and the NFL.
A landmark achievement
“Having the opportunity to create an NFL-branded game is a huge milestone for developers,” said Andrew Paradise, CEO of Skillz.
“Congratulations to these four talented developers whose innovative games rose to the challenge. We can’t wait to see which final games emerge victorious to take home the big win.”
The NFL & Skillz Game Developer Challenge will end this summer and the winning mobile games will officially launch on the App Store and Google Play ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
